So your bestie just got engaged and you’re trying to win bridesmaid of the year award. Wedding planning is in full swing and it’s time to start thinking about the bachelorette weekend. HAYYY GIRL! You’ve come to the right place! This post is all about bachelorette parties- the basics, what to do, what not to do, + my 4 favorite bachelorette party themes 🙂
♥ Talk to the bride! It’s so important to plan around the bride’s likes and interests. If your bestie hates the cold, then don’t plan a snowbunny weekend in Colorado.. Ask her what she has in mind for her dream bachelorette weekend and what she wants to do before SHE ties the knot. Always keep in mind, this weekend is about her.
♥ Create a guest list! It’s always fun to surprise the bride with the fun little details but the guest list is always something you should run by her. Is it just bridesmaids attending? Or does she want to include other close girlfriends that aren’t in the bridal party? *Rule of thumb- if they aren’t invited to the wedding, they should not be a part of the bachelorette weekend. It’s also a nice gesture to include sister-in-laws!
♥ Budget. Ideally the bridesmaids should cover all the bride’s expenses. So it’s important to be open with each bridesmaid about how much they should be coughing up. (To brides- if your girls are covering all your costs, it’s a really nice idea to buy everyone a round of drinks (or something similar) that shows you’re appreciative!)
♥ Choose a theme and create an inspo board to plan off of. See below for my favorites themes! Brainstorm apparel, decor, food/drinks etc. and organize everything so that you can bring it all to life!
♥ Choose a weekend that works for each girl, but most importantly, it has to work for the soon to be Mrs. Most bachelorette parties are about 1-2 months before the wedding. It shouldn’t be too close to the wedding day (as you don’t want to stress the bride out anymore than she already is) but don’t push it too far out! Send out the invites that correspond to your theme and get everyone excited!
♥ Create your itinerary, start purchasing all your goodies and get ready to have the best weekend ever 🙂
